Great article. And most of the comments are good, too. When I taught, there were no cell phones. Some kids had trouble focusing, but without cell phones, I could sometimes reach them. Where I see the problem more recently is among my family. I hate sitting at a table where I'm the only one not on a phone. It's also made it much harder to relate with my kids when my views compete with the social media propaganda. I believe social media is the biggest threat to the family and to a conscious citizenry. I use my phone to stay in touch with my wife, and that's it.
