I AM ASHAMED OF MY COUNTRY.

We create heroes and then destroy them.

Like most Americans, I have feared for our country since November 2016.

Our judicial system has been a tool for the rich since long before the emergence of the current “Supreme Court”. (It has no real checks and balances. When it runs amok, where do Americans go for relief?)

The Presidency is about to become a platform for dictatorship. The potential for abuse is unlimited.

Congress has become a haven for sycophants, whores, and the financially motivated. (Its mantra has become “f__k no”).

And the country has split between the hateful on the right and the cowardly on the left. The worst among us now lead us.

But this article is not so much about those issues as something else which upsets me even more.

America searches for leaders, but when it finds them, it destroys them.

It seemed to have found Biden at just the right time, after the horror show that was the Trump administration. He was the President of the People, which caused him to be loved by most Americans but hated by the right. He embraced the issues which were important to the majority of Americans: female reproductive rights, reasonable regulation of guns, rebuilding our infrastructure, eliminating financial inequality, stopping Russian aggression, building worldwide networks with our allies, supporting worker rights, bringing jobs back home and putting a dent in inflation, pushing bipartisan…
