I practiced estate law for a while. In the initial consultations, I told the potential client some of these stories. (There are thousands.) I think some of them thought I was trying to con them and went to other lawyers who said the same thing to them. Some of them ignored the advice, and their families are suffering tremendously as a result. One of the reasons I'm no longer practicing is that I got fed up with people assuming I was a con man when I tried to help them.
