I've been in Medium only a short while, but it did not take long to notice that the positive-thinking stories receive many excited comments whereas the articles like this one (and those I wrote) receive few. I guess they just don't fit in the positive-thinking bubble. But I know that my personal growth has coincided with times that I looked at the most unattractive parts of myself, and this has to be so for countries as well.
