My brother and I are both in our 70s. I am straight and he is gay. He didn't announce his sexual preference (remember, this was the 60s) until he was in college. I knew after driving him and his date, and pretty young girl, when he was 15, and he couldn't go near her. In college, he formed a relationship with a young man, and they are still together after 50 years, longer than anyone I know. They've always lived in college towns where there is more understanding of their relationship than most places. But I would call their marriage an example for us all. Our parents are gone, but I remain very close with my brother and his mate.
