Terrific article. I'm 76, generally active (despite health problems) and happy with my life. But it is always a good time to do the exercise you did. So I'll do a little now . . .

- Spending my life doing a job I did not like to support my family of 8 (plus dogs)

- Giving up piano lessons to play sports.

- Being invested in being "right" (life eventually knocked that one out of me)

- Wasting time with the wrong women before finding my wife

- Becoming sexually competent way before I did (apologies to all women who had to experience me as a younger man)

- Punching my brother (only once, fortunately)

- Not following my father's advice at critical times

- Not appreciating what it was like for my mother in a family of all males

- Not having a sister

- Going to the prom (what a drag)

- Giving up surfing to go to law school

- Not using sun lotion during the surfing years (my dermatologists are my best friends now)

- Spending many years in a cult (there were good things about it)

- Giving my money away (some of it went to good people but I also got suckered a lot)

- Carrying rage for too many years stemming from being molested

- Hitchhiking through Europe where I got dysentery, which has plagued me ever since (good memories, though)

- Judging people for so long

- Not getting that I have helped many people and being self-critical instead

- Cleaning up my children's messes instead of letting them learn about consequences

- Being too serious about life instead of having more irresponsible fun

Stopping here, but this was fun. Thanks.
