Thanks for commenting, Michael. You’re right, of course. My “solution” is to pay teachers more but raise standards. Make them acquire a job through their education ideas, rather than their credentials. And look for one creative talent who can be the hub of the wheel, continuing to train and encourage teachers. For what it’s worth, this is analogous to my view about police. We need to fund them more, not less, but change the training, raise the standards for initial acceptance, and send them packing the moment they show bias or a propensity for violence.
