The lawyers who do best in law school -- both performance wise and with mental health -- are those who had prior experience working in the world. You appear to be one of those, as was I, and I think your experience will make you an excellent hire regardless of grades.

That said, law school is just a matter of paying your dues, and very little of what you learn there will be valuable when you start practicing. I enjoyed much of law school because I enjoy learning about new things. And you should do whatever you can to enjoy it because the world you will be going into sucks. I practiced for over four decades, but I emerged unsatisfied and even a little bitter. I ended up feeling that I had done little that made a difference operating in a system that was stacked against all but the big boys and corrupt. My advice to you is to study as hard as you can in law school, find mentors when you start practicing, and watch your soul closely.
