This is shocking to me (a white man). I've read the statistics, but this is the first personal rendition of the race problem in medicine that I've read. I've had a lot of medical problems, a lot of time in hospitals. Except for one dermatologist who almost killed me through his neglect, I've had consistently friendly and competent care. This isn't fair, and I will put more of what I have to changing it than I have until now.
