Unlike many of your commenters, I have no medical knowledge or training. Only my experience. I've had heart problems for the last 25 years. At one point, one of my doctors put me on a statin (Lipitor, I think). Typical of most doctors in my experience, there was no discussion of the purpose, effectiveness, other pros and cons of the medicine. I was just told to take it. A day later, the s__t hit the fan. I became totally disoriented and demented. I would drive for an hour without any knowledge of what I had passed or where I was going. That night, I was hit by a panic attack like none I've ever experienced. (Impossible to describe to anyone who has not had one.) I stopped taking the pill immediately and returned to normal.
