When I was a young lawyer, I made lots of money, but it seemed to disappear before I got it (6 kids), and my wife and I were not happy. Then, the shit hit the fan for us, mostly because of severe medical problems. Lost our home, declared bankruptcy, lost most of our friends, walked the edge of homelessness. Now, we live in a small cabin in the mountains. Because I am 76 and somewhat disabled, I cannot get work, so we now live week-to-week and sometimes day-to-day. BUT we are happier than we've ever been.
